Edits to this knol may be incorporated into the official Help Center article. Visit the following link to view the official Help Center article associated with this knol:

You will be able to reset your Admin password only if you have enabled the admin password reset feature in your control panel. If you have enabled this feature, you can reset your admin password by following these steps:

  1. Navigate to your control panel login page at https://www.google.com/a/cpanel/your_domain.com. Be sure to replace 'your_domain.com' with your actual domain name.
  • Click I can't access my account.
  • Type the letters in the picture (this is called a captcha) and click Submit.
  • You will see a confirmation message to let you know that instructions have been sent to the secondary contact you've selected in the control panel.
  • Sign in to the secondary contact email account, and click the link in the password reset message. The link is a tokenized URL unique to your account.
  • From the drop-down list, select the Administrator account to change
  • Enter and confirm the new password, then click Save new password to apply your changes.
    • Note: Passwords are strongly recommended to be at least 8 characters, especially for optimal use with IMAP or POP.

If the link provided in the email is invalid or has expired, you''ll be redirected to the initial captcha screen to re-send reset instructions. If you've chosen to disable this auto-reset option in the control panel, please contact the support team directly for password assistance. You may experience a longer resolution time.

Please note that the above instructions will not apply to you if:

    1. You have not enabled the password reset feature in your control panel.
  • Your secondary email address is not functioning.
  • You have more than 500 provisioned user accounts at your domain.
  • Once you regain access to your control panel, you may opt-in to the password reset feature (in case you forget your password in the future) by following these steps:

    1. Log in to the control panel.
  • Click Domain settings.
  • Click Account information.
  • In the Secondary contact section, check the box to enable the password reset feature.
